Ellis Garvin began his formal study of astrology in 1994, and began studying and practicing counseling in 1995. In his practice he also draws on his extensive, 25 year background in multiple disciplines of growth work.

Ellis’ journey of personal growth took off at the age of 14 when he experienced a sudden and all-consuming desire to leave his regular life behind, travel to India, find a Guru and seek spiritual enlightenment. Less than a year later Ellis left home and traveled for three years with an Indian Guru, the active head of a powerful lineage of meditation masters. Through many profound experiences, Ellis underwent a deep inner transformation and became convinced beyond any doubt that the deepest identity of all people and all things was a boundless, unconditionally loving, purely good and completely self-aware Consciousness.
The years spent with his Guru laid an invaluable foundation for his continued investigation into many different modalities of personal and spiritual growth work. Some of the biggest influences on his own development and practice have been the study of Core Energetics, body-centered psychotherapy, and astrology, as well as his experience with tantra, advaita, energetic healing and shamanic work. He has also had the good fortune to spend time with a number of the leading spiritual teachers of our time. Throughout this journey Ellis has found that each path and modality has it’s own unique strengths, corresponding to it’s areas of special focus. By putting together his wide range of study and experience, Ellis has developed an unusually broad and comprehensive understanding of human nature; from the most basic animal instincts, up to the limitless potentials of our innermost consciousness.
In his practice, Ellis offers his unique blend of penetrating insight, gentle support and listening well to his clients. He is able to work with people on many different levels; from the human challenges of relationships, career, love, loss, parenthood, and the struggles of working within a deeply dysfunctional society, to looking at deeper spiritual concerns. Ellis deeply respects the complexity and challenges of being human, and is in awe at the rich beauty and goodness of all people. Above all, Ellis sees that his clients are embodiments of that same purely good, loving, intelligent, aware consciousness that he experienced with his Guru so many years ago.
Ellis is in a committed relationship with a wonderful partner, and is the father of an amazing baby boy. He practices astrology and counseling from his home base in Haiku, Maui. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, making them laugh and being silly. He also enjoys plants, animals, swimming, hiking, being in nature, thrift store shopping, music, film, and last but not least, a delicious meal.
